University of Texas at El Paso Simulation Laboratory develops a state-of-the-art clinical practice simulation laboratory for training of nursing and allied health students to provide opportunities for continuing professional education for licensed health professionals in the region.
Tigua Smoke-Out provides tobacco cessation and youth tobacco prevention education to members of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo. El Paso Psychology Internship Consortium trains psychology post-doctoral students to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health service in the border region in partnership with the Hogg Foundation and local universities. The Child Crisis Center of El Paso CCCEP protects children ages newborn through thirteen years from abuse and neglect by providing emergency shelter, family support services, and family education and prevention services. Our Emergency Shelter services are essential in keeping children safe and secure while opening up a doorway to address the underlying issues that lead to child abuse and neglect.
Critical case management parenting classes, referrals to financial management classes and substance abuse programs, and a collaborative network of agencies and community resources helps us to alleviate the immediate crisis situation while focusing on eliminating the cause of that situation.
