Kit's Camera offered me a job in sales. My passion for developing and printing photos quickly got me transferred to the 1-hour photo booth. In the years of printing photos, I have worked in Factoria, Issaquah, South Center, and Klahanie so there is a good chance I have printed some of your photos in your film days.

Over the years, shooting a variety of events, weddings, commercial products, I came to the realization that my passion is photographing architecture and interiors.

I really liked how the clouds were moving here from the long exposure! Note to self: will have to return to do a time lapse! I have almost been able to check off all of the "Required" locations to shoot Seattle now! I still need a couple more shots from West Seattle and from Gasworks Park! This is a combination of three timed exposures 45 seconds, 20 seconds and seconds merged and tonemapped in Photomatix. I corrected the perspective with the perspective Crop in Photoshop.

Ran through Topaz Adjust to bring back some details. Final adjustments in Lightroom included pulling back overall saturation and adding a slight vignette. Thank you for your views, visits, comments and faves. I appreciate them. I hope everyone has a great weekend. We have a chance for some lowland snow this weekend, so I know all of my fellow Seattle Flickr friends will be itching to get out and shoot too! Please do not use my images on blogs or websites without my permission.

All images are available for licensing. Thank you. Well this weekend marks the Space Needle's 50th anniversary! It was built for the World's Fair and has become one of the ten most photographed structures in the world. I have many shots from Kerry Park, but wanted to make sure I got a shot with it's roof painted the golden orange color Officially called "Galaxy Gold". It normally is white, but has a nice minty color when illuminated at night. The roof was painted to celebrate the anniversary of the World's Fair and is supposed to stay that way for the next six months.

I did a little "Dodge and Burn" to bring out a little more drama and processed the shot with a slight "Painterly" look. Added the vignette in Lightroom. Thank you for your views, comments and faves. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We sure did here in the Pacific Northwest as we basked in the sun and pleasant weather which has been lacking this Spring! Please do not use my images on blogs or websites such as Tumblr, Pinterest, etc without my permission. All images are available for license and purchase.

Hi to all of my contacts! I am sorry to have been a bad contact lately, as I have been extremely busy with work and sneaking in a few outings here and there when I can. So I snuck in an outing to the Seattle Waterfront and texted several Flickr friends to possibly meetup! Well darn it, everyone has plans! I was able to catch Dene www. This is probably my tenth time visiting this spot for sunset, and I finally got the color show I wanted. Oh, that is right! I had Dene with me She will deny that, but I believe it to be true!

So I also got the "Blue Hour" shot that I have been wanting for ever Dene is really a lucky charm!!! Lots and lots of spot removal with the "Clone Stamp! This was shot at 10mm to really capture this scene.

I did have to do a slight perspective crop, which is required with this particular scene. I then did a little "Dodging and Burning" and ran through Topaz Adjust to regain some details.

Lastly, I ran through Lightroom to add a slight vignette and adjusted clarity. Thank you to ALL of my contacts for your views, comments and faves. I am hoping to slow down a bit to really have some time to visit all of your photostreams and comment on the inspiring work I know that you have been posting! All images are available for license. This is from last week when we had some interesting clouds work their way through Seattle. Interesting enough that I also did a time lapse from here. I promised to have that up soon.

Trying to figure out how to proceed in Photoshop, as Lightroom produces a shaky image! I shot over images, so I should be able to produce a nice smooth time lapse! Here is the time lapse: www. I ran through Topaz Adjust to help create more of a painted look. I also did a little dust spot removal and desaturated some of the colors in Lightroom. I also added just a bit of grain to the image. Hope everyone has had a great Summer. Hard to believe Autumn is almost here! I have noticed a bit of color change here and there around the city.

Still looking to head back up to Mt Rainier, as our wildflower season is late this year! Contact me if you would like to license an image. Hey everyone, sorry about being a little intermittent here on Flickr!

Been extremely busy with work and have tried to stop by your photostreams! I have also been very busy chasing the sunrises and sunsets that we have been having lately. Been missing the sunrises but have caught a few sunsets! This is the classic postcard view of Seattle that has been shot to death by everyone that visits and by all of us Seattle photogs! I say that, but we are all drawn to the view and the potential for some epic light! I of course had four potential spots to take a sunset shot and had been slightly disappointed the night before at Kerry Park as there was a nice sunset, but the epic light show happened to the right of this shot on Saturday night!

So I did settle for Kerry Park again on Sunday and was not disappointed! So last night, for a few brief moments, the color happened above the city. I do have a couple later shots where the sky was pink, but the color was not as widespread as it is here! I also have a nice golden shot before the sun went down! I straightened the crop and actually did a slight perspective crop as I had the camera aimed higher into the sky to capture the clouds.

I cleaned up some pesky dirt spots, I really need to get my sensor cleaned! I also ran through Topaz Adjust to regain a little detail. I sharpened a bit, and added a light vignette in Lightroom. All of my images are available for license. I know! I was really on the bridge for a different reason than to just capture a single sunset shot of the city. I actually hung out for over two hours shooting a time lapse that I will post later in the week.

The time lapse was a challenge as I started out with the sun still in the sky. That makes for extremely challenging shooting as the sun is shining right into the camera and the foreground is underexposed.

I could try an HDR time lapse, but I am too new to all of this! I really just need to break down and get a graduated neutral density filter! Anyways, this is a wider view than what I normally post from here. The reason is that for the time lapse, I wanted to make sure I got all of the traffic shooting toward me on the interstate. This is the intersection of Interstate 90 and Interstate 5. Seattle is the west coast terminus for I and Boston is the east coast terminus.

In this shot, you also see Safeco Field, where the Mariners baseball play, and Century Link Field, where the Seahawks football and the Sounders soccer play. Again, one of the big challenges shooting from the 12th street bridge is the vibration you get when big trucks and buses rumble by. Especially when you are shooting a longer exposure! I cleaned up the edges of the buildings caused by the vibration of the bridge in Photoshop.

Final run through in Lightroom to bring out the highlights and to cool the White Balance a hint. This gallery is where my photo titled "Downtown View" www. This is my first gallery showing, so I am excited about it. There is a special reception on August 13th from pm to meet the artists. For more information you can visit the Art East website at: arteast. Thank you for your views, comments and faves!

I appreciate all of them. I will post a time lapse from this spot later this week! I hope everyone has a great week! If you would like to license a photo, please contact me. Well it was only a matter of time before I posted another shot from one of the best, or at least one of my favorite places to shoot the Seattle skyline.

Sunset looked promising 17 miles to the east when I started on my trek into the city. Then, as typically happens with Seattle weather, the sunset fizzled.

Oh well, there will be another time. I know most people are used to seeing spectacular colors from the sunrises and sunsets here in Seattle, when we are lucky enough in the winter to have them.

What you don't see too many of are the normal, cloudy shots that us Seattlites are accustomed to. The day did start off with some rain and then the clouds broke in the afternoon.

The next storm started to move in as sunset approached. What I do like here is that you can see the fresh coating of snow on the Olympic Mountains in the distance as well as a low level cloud bank hovering over the eastern shore of Kitsap county. I met a couple of fellow photographers while on the bridge, always great meeting others that share the same passion for photography and art. One of them, Tanner, is doing a project.

So it was nice briefly talking with him. Here is a link to his photostream: www. Back to the HDR here! I know that is what many of my contacts expect from me, so here it is! I cropped just a bit in Photoshop as well as removed that pesky piece of lint, I really need to get my sensor cleaned, from the sky.

I did a little bit of burn in the shadows to give the buildings a bit of depth. Final adjustments to the saturation, which I pulled back a tad, and lightened up the shadows a bit in Lightroom.

I hope everyone had a great New Year and it is still going great for you! I have been blown away by the response to my three fireworks shots I posted from New Years night at the Space Needle. There has been a flood of new contact requests in the past few days and I have hardly been able to keep up.
