Bootlegger’s black phoenix stout

A tick is a star rating. Dark brown black color. Thin brown head. Taste is medium bitter. Body is thin. Aroma and flavour is coffee, chili, coffee, chocolate,. My review exceeds the character limit for this site. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Pours near black with a beige head.

Mild coffee sweetness, roasted malts, some molasses-like sweetness, and coffee sweetness lingering through the finish. Not bad. Drank with Rik in at Pivo in Bratislava second beer of the tasting , Pepper, lots of carbonation and sharp. Dark brown to black color, medium, light beige head. Aroma is light roasty, bit sour of coffee with chilli and dark chocolate. Taste is light roasty and malty, bit more carbonated, light taste of chilli, strong coffee, solid hoppy. Huge, thick beige head over virtually black beer.

Chocolate, bit of coffee. Voluminous head hampers the perception. Bit earthy, also paint, autumn leaf, toffee. Chocolate, mocha, coffee, spicy. Chilliheat arrives nearly as an afterthought, but keeps hanging after a while.

Faintly smoked, capsicum. Seems well-bodied for a relatively light stout. Very well-carbonated. Not bad, drinkable despite the chilli. Bottle 65cl. A: Black. T: Roasted malt, coffee, chili. Chocolate malt, roasted barley and oats help to round out the flavor with the chipotle peppers adding a subtle warmth and smokiness to the finish.
