Upper Management was terrible Upper management is why I left but my direct manager was one of the best I have ever encountered. If you have a family leave issue at Clearwire, you can forget any understanding or leave time to deal with it. They will just want to fire you Executive management wasted time, called meetings they weren't ready to lead and were clueless about day to day operations. This is why they went under. Clearwire wanted me to lie to the customer. I will not lie. Clearwire would sell their services out of area.
I help the record for 95 miles out of service area. A friend of mine then did miles out of service area. Bloomberg said the company would not last only 6 month. I went looking for another job. Very bad company to work for. No longer in business as far as I know. Pros none. Cons company wanted its employees to lie to customer. The pay sucked, it was chump change 12 dollars an hour. They closed down the place I worked and a couple more in Las Vegas and out sourced to the Philippines.
I heard that did not work out well for them. Anyway the managers were great, the culture was good, work life balance good, the only down part was the pay. Would you rate your company five stars? Like everything else that Sprint touches, it went downhill. Pros Flexibility. Cons Company folded. I had a great time at Clearwire. It was a very challenging position that required a brutal amount of work on a regular basis. When I say hours a week, I'm not kidding. Still, it was fun and I really had the opportunity to make an impact. They took good care of me. A lot was expected, but they paid in keeping with that expectation.
Pros Ability to have made an impact on an industry. Cons Zero work life balance. Show up to your assigned job site and get internet sales in for the day. Management was chill but didn't really follow up on employees as much. Work environment was ok but you still had those rude customers. Hardest part of the job was making the sales so you didn't lose your job.
Most enjoyable part is working with technology day in and day out. Pros hour long lunches. Cons Had to make quotas so you weren't fired. This was a very fun position. After evaluating the equipment necessary to build the data centers, we were given ip addressing schemes and protocols then the task at hand was to build configurations for the firewalls, routers, and switches.
Pros Spent a month in New York City. Cons Spent a month in New York City. My position not only managed all cell site and inter switch circuit activity for entire Mid-West markets between cell sites and switch sites along with ISPs.
Also attend all node site visits. Position involved interaction with all field site contractor turn up activity including site in service activity. My team leader and associates worked as an integrated group. This level of support made my position very enjoyable.
This position required much excel work sheet updates and required updates to be completed daily. Pros Utilized my learned and experiences keeping my skills current.
