Larger debris piles will need to be collected by specialized equipment, which may take time. Yard waste should be placed less than 3 feet from the curb and at least 3 feet from other objects, including containers, vehicles, electric boxes, and poles. Yard waste and containers should never be placed in the roadway. In an effort to beat the heat, Sanitation crews begin collection operations at AM during summer months.
This allows employees to adjust to the summer heat and work more efficiently. Items normally placed out at the curb by AM should be placed ready for collection by 6AM throughout the summer months.
